What is a Lumen?
Lumens measure how much light you are getting from a bulb. They are essentially a measure of brightness. More lumens means a brighter light; fewer lumens means a dimmer light.
When you purchase light bulbs, think lumens, not watts.
The brightness, or lumen levels, of the lights your home will need vary widely. Here is a chart to give
you an idea of how many lumens you you should look for to replace a bulb of that number of watts.
