Lighting Your Wine Cellar
Using lighting to create the right ambience for your wine cellar is easy. Here are a few tips to get you started.
Watch the Heat
When choosing lighting for your wine celar you want to go with a low-heat bulb. LED's are ideal for this and come in many color options.
Lighting the Area
Your wine cellar will typically have shelves from the floor to the ceiling. Illuminating the area can be achived with track lighting, allowing you to focus each light at a certain point, or you may want to choose wall washing down-lights. Either can add elegance and intrigue to your wine cellar.
Accent Lighting
You may want to focus attention on a certain bottle or area in your wine cellar. Accent lighting allows you to do this easily. LED strip lighting is the easiest way to go. Placing a LED light strip under the cabinet is a great way to put focus on your favorite bottle of wine.
Backlighting
Adding backlighting to your shelves can create a great effect. LED's work great in this situation too. Remember not to use too much, as some feel that light will degrade the wine.
