Some useful tips for installing your Holiday lighting this year.
- Inspect The Wires
Wires become brittle. If you have frayed wires, throw the lights away. For safetys sake, it's not worth it. - Electrical Concerns
If you are plugging strings of lights together, avoid connecting more than four or five strands end to end. You don't want to overload the circuit. - Caution on Rooftops and Elevated Areas
Make sure your ladder is stable and in good condition. Alweays keep your ladder on a solid, flat surface. Have someone assist you with the decorating. If the roof is too high, don't risk it, hire a professional. - Take Your Lights Down at the End of the Season
Don't be lazy. Leaving your lights up after the holiday is over will not win you any points with your neighbors. More important than that is that the daily exposure to the weather over time may cause damage to the wires, lights and sockets.
